    ... Arjan immediately understood what he wat trying to imitate: Lataste's viper! He also told us about other reptiles, amphibians, mammals and birds occurring around Covarrubias.

    There was one animal, though, he hadn't heard of: sharp-ribbed newt (Pleurodeles waltl). This is not surprising, because the Covarrubias area is probably outside the known range of the species. We found it on a road during a rainy night.
