    Horne nosed viper is not a rarity in Greece. This one, a male, is of the subspecies meridionalis, to be recognized by the yellow tailtip.

    Ablepharus kitaibelli lives between the leaf litter. In the ever halftone light of this sheltered habitat it needs a large eye to find its preys (small insects).
