One of the best "klooi" places in Turkey; more than 20 species in a area no more than a square mile.

This basin is filled year round; it is used to water the orange and olive trees of a local farmer. Coin-marked and Montpellier snakes bask on the walls around it nearly every morning.

The golden skink (Trachylepis aurata) is on of the bigger skink species. It can easily be found in spring, but not in autumn.

Can you find the golden skink? There is one looking at you in this picture...

Coin-marked snake (Hermorrhois nummifer) mimics the Ottoman viper in SW Turkey. In Armenia these harmless snakes are more similar to blunt nosed viper (see our Armanian trip report).

The common toad is not very common at all in Turkey. Up till now, this specimen is the only one found here by us.

This subadult black whip snake still has its juvenile pattern. Older specimens are completly black with a reddish belly.
